Indian Delegation Visits Italy
A delegation of various representatives including principals, school administrators and founders of about 23 private schools of Delhi participated in a mission organized by Uni-Italia in collaboration with The Scholard. The delegation, which also included the President of the Action Committee of Unaided Recognized Private Schools, participated in a training course held by Uni-Italia at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rome, aimed at raising awareness of the Italian educational system and university training offer. The delegates received attendance certificates from the Secretary General of Uni-Italia, Mr. Alberto Ortolani and they also paid a visit to the ’Collezione Farnesina’ in the MAECI premises.
The Indian delegation accompanied by the Director of Uni-Italia in India Ms. Valentina Ierna, also had the gracious opportunity to meet H.E. Mrs. Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India in Italy and Ms. Gloria Gangte, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Rome.
La Sapienza Università di Roma also welcomed the delegation to visit the Rectorate and meet the Deputy Rector for the Internationalization Prof. Bruno Botta, the Head of the International Relations Office Prof. Maria Ester Scarano and Prof. Giorgio Milanetti, Professor of Hindi Language and Literature along with some of their enthusiastic students. The Indian Delegation also visited the Technical Institute for Tourism "Cristoforo Colombo" in Rome, during which a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Action Committee of Recognized Private Schools represented by its President Dr. Sushanta Kumar Bhattacharya and the Regional School Office of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) represented by its Director General Mr. Gildo De Angelis, thereby making it a landmark event and the first significant step for fruitful collaborations between the two counterparts in future.
