On 2 May 2024, the event "Study in Europe Goes to Balikpapan” was hosted in Balikpapan, designed to highlight opportunities for higher education in Europe. This initiative is part of the Europe Day celebrations for 2024, aiming to connect European educational institutions with Indonesian students. The event will feature visits to two key locations in Balikpapan: Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) and SMA Nasional KPS, where the representatives will engage directly with students and provide valuable information.
There are five European countries were prominently represented, including Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, and Spain. Each country presented its unique higher education offerings through its respective organisation: DAAD, Campus France, Uni-Italia, Education in Ireland, and Campus Spain. These representatives offered insights into studying in Europe, covering various programs and opportunities available for both university and high school students.
The primary goal of this initiative was to promote European higher education and foster international academic exchanges. By showcasing the diverse opportunities available in Europe, the event aimed to inspire and inform Indonesian students about the benefits of studying abroad and strengthen educational ties between Europe and Indonesia.
